happy halloween | sacramento children’s photographer

Earlier this week I photographed the most beautiful and fun family. I ventured out to the country to meet little {B} who was just shy of two weeks old. I tell you, photographing newborns never gets old for me. I just love it. I love that they all fight sleep in the beginning but always eventually give in. Baby {B} was much easier than most to get into that wonderful, deep sleep and as a result we were able to get some amazing images. I could have taken his picture for hours (which we came pretty close to) but we wanted to be sure to get some images of big brother and sister before we ran out of daylight.
blog-17I love that Mom called me out on these next poses by joking, “Oh, now you’re just getting greedy.” It’s so true! With an adorable baby that cozy, warm, and sleepy I just had to try. And he and Mom were such great sports!blog-210I had to get this post up tonight in time for Halloween because these costume cuties are so festive. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a cuter wizard… blog-36
or found a more adorable Nemo…blog-46And after our dress up part of the session we headed outside (in the crazy wind) to get some traditional images. {Z} was cracking me up–he had me chasing him all over the {S} is so beautiful. I just can’t decide between the serious side…blog-63or the silly think they are both equally adorable. Mom and Dad–thank you so much for welcoming me into your home to photograph your family. I just had to get these online in time for you to view on Halloween. I’ll be in touch when your full gallery is up–in the meantime, enjoy!

my little tiger | sacramento children’s photographer

I decided to try my hand at face painting today. Abby discovered her love of face paint during our recent trip to Disneyland and I figured it would be a fun activity for us. Jacob said that he wanted to be a tiger and after a few internet searches I wanted to see if I could try to pull it off. I must say, he makes one darn cute tiger!blog-16blog-27

what to wear | sacramento family photographer

The number one question I am asked is “What should we wear for our photography session?” I always recommend starting with the kids outfits and building off of that. Here are a few sample ideas for my clients that have upcoming holiday sessions.what2wear-0910

like family | sacramento family photographer

This session has been on the calendar for quite a while and I was so happy that the date actually arrived last weekend. I always love hanging out with the {M} family–in fact I consider them like family. Jack was my dad’s best friend and growing up I always referred to him as “Uncle Jack”. So I knew this session would be fun, relaxed, and enjoyable and it definitely was. There aren’t too many sessions that I get invited to stay for Halibut, tri-tip, and a glass of wine! Love it!

I have so many images from this session and I just couldn’t narrow down for the sneak peek. So I decided to focus on the kids that I photographed because let’s face it, at big family gatherings it’s always about the kids, right? And I don’t think I could have found a more adorable bunch of kiddos had I gone out and hand selected them myself! Here are the sets of brothers and sisters here is little {B}. I photographed her last spring and you’ll recognize her adorable face from all over my website. She just gets cuter!blog-53And here are her grandparents, parents, and aunt and uncle.

blog-15And because these two girls are just so adorable I wanted to include one more. I just love their outfits–perfect for the holidays if anyone is looking for ideas for upcoming{M} family–thank you so much for choosing me to spend the afternoon photographing your family. I can’t wait to show you the full gallery soon–I have so many more great family pictures for you!

sixteen days | sacramento newborn photographer

Yesterday I photographed the most precious little sixteen day old girl. When I got there she was sound asleep and ready for her newborn session. But after several images and a few poses she decided she didn’t want to sleep through all the fun. While we tried for nearly three hours to get her back into that snuggly, deep slumber, she wasn’t having it. To be honest, I think that some of her awake pictures have become my new favorite newborn images. I just love the eye contact, the interactions and her adorable expressions in them. blog-25I just can’t get over this next image. Her little tiny hands, her precious perfect mouth, and those gorgeous, wide awake eyes.
blog-14But a sleeping baby is always irresistible, so I couldn’t resist adding these next two images to the sneak and Dad–thank you so much for choosing me to capture these first images of baby {I}. She is perfect in every way. I’ll have many more images in your gallery soon, but in the meantime…enjoy!
