We’re off to board a plane and visit the Happiest Place on Earth this weekend with the kids! So I’ll be out of the office until Monday, October 19th. I’ll respond to all emails and voicemails when we return. And since a post just isn’t a post without a picture, how about one of our family. Picture each of us with mouse ears on and that’s pretty much how we’ll look all vacation.

I have never photographed more than one senior at a time, but when {K} and {E} contacted me and wanted a shared senior session I knew that I loved the idea. I had the greatest time this evening with both high school seniors and their moms (who were awesome by the way). If this couple attended the same school they would definitely win the “Cutest Couple” award. Seriously, they just seem like such a good fit for each other. And {K} is just absolutely beautiful. I took so many pictures and she looks amazing in all of them. But I knew the minute I snapped this one that it would be a favorite.
{E} is a competitive swimmer and an all around good guy. I am so amazed how polite and just fun to be around all the seniors I photograph are. Parents these days are obviously doing something right and it definitely showed with {E}.
While it was great photographing them individually, the real fun was capturing {K} and {E} together. Their interactions and the way the looked at one another made for some great images.
We were walking from one location to the next and I glanced over at {K} and saw the way she was looking at {E}. I knew I had to get an image of it and while {E} wasn’t quite sure, I knew in my mind what I wanted to achieve. She looks great, right {E}?
It was a lot of fun using the capitol as a backdrop for our session. The gorgeous architecture, the manicured green lawns, the rose gardens–everything we could want was right within walking distance.
And just because I have to add just one more I needed to include this gorgeous one of {K}. I love, love, love the spots of color in the flowers behind her. And see what I mean…I told you she doesn’t take a bad picture.
{K}, {E}, and moms–thank you so much for choosing me to photograph your senior portraits. I had a great time getting to know you and am so thankful the rain decided to hold off and give us a beautiful evening. I’ll have many, many more images in your gallery but in the meantime I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!
Another session where I raced home to upload my images and mark my favorites. And let me tell you–I marked a lot! I really had to narrow down for the sneak peek. This beautiful family just doesn’t take a bad picture. And twenty month old {K} obviously inherited his good looks. I just adore this first image (and I think it was actually the first image that I snapped during our session.) His wide-eyed expression is just priceless.
Mom and Dad drove an hour and a half for their session this afternoon and I must say, I am completely flattered. I feel so blessed that I get to do something I love, meet incredible families, and capture images that they will hopefully cherish for many years to come. I love my job!
I was so glad that Mom and Dad wanted pictures of the two of them taken. They are so gorgeous and you can just tell they are so in love by the way they look at each other. I love it!
This little guy and I had so much fun running around, making bird noises, train noises, car noises (okay, maybe I was the only one making those noises–but look at the smile I got out of him).
And just to show you how much fun this family was I had to include this last one. Seriously–they were so much fun to hang out with.
{D} family–thank you so much for choosing me to photograph your family. I really had a great afternoon with you and am so happy with the images that we captured. These are just a few–there are so many more great ones that I can’t wait to share with you soon! I’ll email you when your gallery is up!
I’m packing up and moving to the country. Honestly, the country life seems so appealing to me. The acreage, the orchards, the beautiful red and white barns–not to mention how great all of these serve as backdrops for photography. This week I had the pleasure of heading up the highway to meet this amazing family. It’s incredible how just a short drive (and really, only a 15 or so minute drive on the freeway) out of the city and you’re smack in the middle of gorgeous farmland. I knew when {R} came out to greet me in his cowboy boots that this session would be so much fun. And boy was it! {R} reminds me so much of my Jacob. I know that if we lived closer they would become fast friends. Four year old boys are just too fun!
Big sister {A} stole my heart. She and I had a great time throwing walnuts fresh from the tree back and forth to each other. And I just love this next image that we captured of her. She was looking up at her mom and I adore the expression on her face.
And baby {A} really couldn’t get any cuter. She wasn’t quite sure of the grass at first but I think she started to like it, wouldn’t you agree?
One thing I really enjoy about my job is meeting all of the great families that I get to photograph. Mom and Dad were so hospitable–I even relaxed with them after the session over a ice cold glass of Diet Pepsi. (Which if you know me, you know that soda is my weakness!) Their three children were all so well behaved and just plain fun to be around.
{R} even has the same John Deere tractor as Jacob. When I saw it I knew we had to get some images in it. I’m so glad we did because I think this is one of my new favorites.
{E} family–thank you so much for welcoming me into your beautiful home. I had a great time getting to know you all. I hope you love your sneak peek–I’ll be in touch when your gallery is up and ready.
I loved everything about this session. I love this little girl, love her mommy, love her adorable headbands, love the backdrops we used–just loved everything! You’ve seen little {A} many times throughout my blog and she came back to have her six month portraits taken last week. This is one of my favorite ages, not only to photograph, but just in general. I loved six months with both of my own kiddos. It’s really the time when the start to exert some independence–they can sit on their own, they start eating solids, their personalities really start to shine.
I knew the second that {A} and her mommy came through the door that it would be a great session. She flashed me her adorable smile and we were good to go!
Mom brought this gorgeous hat box and we new we had to use it. I still think it’s funny that we put babies in boxes. Whenever I’m out shopping and see a cute basket or box I always want to pick it up for my photography props. But seriously, it doesn’t get much cuter than a baby in a box…see?
Okay, maybe it does get cuter…a baby in leg warmers!
Mom–thank you so much for choosing me to photograph these milestones in {A’s} life. I had so much fun with you both last week and love the images we got! I hope you do to!
