bright and bold | sacramento photographer

I love color. If you’ve followed my blog for any amount of time (or even if this is the first time you’ve been here) I’m sure you can see that I just adore bright, bold color. And large amounts of it at that.

So when I asked my husband if he thought it would be fun to do a green and teal peacock themed tree for Christmas, I know he wasn’t surprised at all. “Yeah, that sounds right up your alley.” But I can sure tell you that he was surprised when the idea for a small decorated table-top tree quickly turned into a dining room covered entirely in colorful feathered goodness. I was amazed at the amounts of peacock / Christmas decorations there are out there. And I was so pleased when I entered a local craft store to find an entire 8 foot tree dressed in peacocks. I’m not the only one that adores those bright colored birds.

I knew I had to document this room in all its peacock splendor 1) because I love it and 2) because I don’t know how long my hubby will agree to let me keep it decorated this way. So glad he’s such a good sport and humors me and my decorating adventures–even if it is only through the holiday season. I am by no means a wedding photographer, so pictures of details just aren’t my specialty. And while I typically stick to portrait work, but I must say, I had a great time getting some of these macro shots.
