I had so much fun this past weekend getting to know this little guy and visiting Fairytale Town for the first time in many, many years. Little {Z} is such a happy one year old–full of energy, smiles, and even a few hugs. I love it when the kids I photograph hug me–it shows me that they’re relaxed and comfortable and assures me that I’m capturing their true character in my images. I adore this first image and had such a great time capturing it!web14{Z} loved this slide so much that we thought it was the perfect place for a family portrait. And seriously, what a gorgeous family!

I love what I do. I love that I get to spend time with great families, get to know their little ones, and capture moments that I hope they will cherish forever. This little baby holds a special place in my heart. Little {B} is my dad’s best friend’s granddaughter. She was born just a few weeks after my dad passed away and this weekend was the first time that I got to meet this sweet baby girl.

When I look at her, I see all that has happened in these past ten months. I see joy, I see hope, and I see so much life. She is a reminder to me of all the growth that can happen over the course of the year. And what a beautiful reminder she is. I mean, seriously, she is absolutely stunning! I know you’re not going to believe me, but I’ll say it anyway–I promise I did not even brighten her eyes in photoshop. Those baby blues really are that blue! What a lucky little lady!

tip toe through the tulips.

I love eighteen month olds. I just do. I love how they are starting to grow out of the baby phase and are charging full force into toddlerhood. I might be one of the few that actually really likes the toddler years. I love how they want to explore anything and everything, and how they are beginning to communicate with words and phrases. 

So little miss {S} was no exception. She stole my heart the minute she came running toward me and wrapped her little arms around my neck. What a sweetheart she is! We had so much fun in our flower filled photosession. I have been dying to use this newly discovered location and when Mom emailed saying she had an eighteen month old little girl I knew it would be a perfect fit. The tulips are absolutely gorgeous right now and they served as the perfect backdrop for our beautiful (and even a bit rainy) Sunday afternoon.web12web22web42web32Mom and Dad–thanks for sharing your little girl with me! I always feel so honored when clients choose me to photograph one of the most important (and beautiful) times in their lives. I absolutely love maternity sessions and this past one was no exception. I had so much fun photographing the {P} family and seriously, can you believe mom-to-be is 38 weeks pregnant? She looks absolutely stunning! This past Saturday I had the privilege of taking sweet baby {A’s} newborn photographs. I must say, I’ve officially caught it…the baby bug. After spending two hours with {A} I left feeling that aching for another little one. They are just so precious, so innocent, and so adorably snugly at this age. {A} was a perfect little angel for me. She slept the entire time and let us switch out bows and poses without even a flinch. She is really very comfortable in front of the camera. There’s no way she couldn’t be though. You’ll remember her gorgeous parents from this maternity shoot. The camera absolutely loves everyone in this beautiful family.
