a boy and his dog | sacramento newborn photographer

Nothing quite compares to newborn photography. The ability to capture their perfect newness, those little hands and feet, and the tiny features that are distinctly newborn. I absolutely love it! This past Monday I was able to meet up with an old high school friend and photograph her precious two week old little boy {S}. At first he wasn’t so certain that he wanted to get sleepy and snuggly for us. This little guy is the most alert newborn I have met. I was so impressed at his little eyes looking around the room, trying to take everything in. He was even trying to hold his head up already! It was incredible!blog15Every time I photograph a newborn I try to get great images of their hands and feet. I love how wrinkly, yet so amazingly soft they are and how their little fingers just wrap right around yours. Baby {S} loved to keep his hands curled tight right under his chin or across his belly…

Mom and Dad have two pet beagles at home and I just have a sneaking suspicion that “Walter” is going to be one of those childhood possessions that will always be close by.
untitled-1Mom and Dad–thank you so much for the opportunity to take these first images of your beautiful son. I had a great afternoon with you and I hope you enjoy your sneak peek. Your online gallery will be up within the week!
