Once again, I have way too many to narrow down for today’s senior session. {M} contacted me a while back and her only request was that we shoot in a natural location. I had found the perfect place and unfortunately the gate to the park was closed when I arrived. Since when is dusk considered 5:30 pm? Luckily the gate wasn’t too much of a deterrence and I figured I could always point out the “Park closes at dusk” sign if anyone questioned us. I’m so glad we stuck with this location because it really was a great place for our images. The perfect natural location for a natural beauty–I can’t believe how lucky I am to have such gorgeous clients.
I also love that we pushed our session out a bit and were able to take advantage of the beautiful evening light. It’s great when I’m actually able to utilize the sunlight instead of avoid it’s harsh rays. Thank you {M} for suggesting that we meet just a little later!
In addition to the beautiful greenery of the garden I love this old bridge. I had to avoid falling into the really murky creek but I was able to keep my balance long enough to capture this awesome image.
One of my favorite things about senior sessions is the wardrobe changes. It makes one session look like four different ones just by a simple outfit change. It’s amazing how just a different shirt can totally change the look and feel of a session.
And this last image is one of my new favorites. I always tell my clients that you will feel awkward for about the first fifteen minutes or so and then you’ll start to feel more comfortable and not so posed. I don’t think it even took {M} that long to feel at ease in front of the camera–she is such a natural!
{M}, I had such a great time capturing your senior portraits this evening. I hope you love them and that you have a great senior year. I have SO many more pictures to sort through–you look fabulous in all of them. I’ll let you know as soon as your online gallery is ready.

Love this next one–I decided to change my processing up a little on it and I think it really works.
{Z} not only gets a new baby sister in a couple of months, but he recently got a new puppy. I knew that I had to capture some images of {Z} with their newest addition.
While Mom and Dad are getting the new room ready for baby, {Z} gets a big boy room makeover. Part of that is an amazing airplane mural on his walls. I asked them who did it and turns out that they have the same muralist that we have used in several places in our home! Small world! He also painted an awesome jungle mural in their playroom. And how incredible is this rug? I knew when I saw it in the playroom that we would have to use it for an image–I think it really works here.
Just the guys.
What a beautiful family.
Thank you so much for the opportunity to capture this time in your family’s life. You are all so wonderful (you too, Grandma!) I can’t wait to meet your little girl in a few months. I have many, many more images for your online gallery–I’ll be emailing you in a week when they are all ready for you to view. In the meantime, enjoy your sneak peek!
I have wanted to do a session on these out of service railroad tracks for a while and was so glad that the girls were up for it. I think some of my favorite images came from this part of the session.
I love that {T} had this idea to balance on the track holding the luggage. So creative and I just love the way it turned out!
And here little {Z} is–I can’t believe how much they change in just a few short months! He’s getting to be such a big boy!
While we got some awesome, more traditional family photos down by the river, I love this image of the four of them on the tracks with their luggage. What a beautiful family!
Mom–it was so great to see you again and to meet your beautiful girls. I had a great time and seriously have so many more images that I just can’t wait to get ready for your gallery–it’s going to be full of pictures, I just can’t narrow down my favorites! And girls–thank you so much for being so awesome and letting me take your pictures–you are all so beautiful! And I still love the fact that you said I remind you of Alice–seriously made my day!
I just love how {A} kept her hands by her face. Mom said that she always has her little fists curled up under her chin–so sweet!
{H} family–thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to take {A’s} first pictures. I’l have your online gallery up later this week–in the meantime, enjoy your images of your precious little girl!
And after a few poses when we decided to try out the cocoon he merely stretched and rolled himself right into place without us even having to lift him up. He really has this baby posing thing down to a science!
I love that I as also able to get some images of big sister {K}. She is so beautiful and you can see how much she already loves her baby brother. She was so nurturing and confident when she held him–I just have a feeling that she is going to be a big help to Mom and Dad.
And one of just {K}. Isn’t she beautiful?
{D} family–thank you so much for welcoming me into your home to photograph your beautiful family. I hope you love your sneak peek. I have many more images just about ready for you that will go up in your online gallery in a few days. Enjoy your new little one!
