all smiles | sacramento family photographer

I braved yet another 105 degree scorcher last Sunday evening to photograph a beautiful (and fun) family. I still can’t get over how well behaved these three boys are–and what amazing smiles they all have! When they each flash that grin, their entire face lights up with personality. I love being able to capture that–to get images that really show who they are. Despite the heat, they hung in there the whole time. Maybe because Dad kept promising frozen yogurt for dessert, but I think the real reason was that they knew all Mom wanted for her birthday was a family photograph with her boys. Mom, I hope you’re pleased. Your boys did a great job creating some lasting photographs for you to enjoy for many years to come!blog-1

Seriously–what a gorgeous family!blog-2More of those handsome boys.
blog-4I was so glad that Mom and Dad wanted some images of just the two of them. What a stunning pair!blog-3{B} family–I had a great time with you this weekend. I hope you love your pictures–many more to come in your online gallery within the week!

a sunday well spent | sacramento family photographer

I met up this weekend with a long time friend of mine to photograph her beautiful family. {J} was my friend and mentor when I was in high school and our relationship is so near and dear to my heart. It’s been quite a while since we’ve been able to catch up. We’re both mommies now and life gets hectic, but it’s so nice to have friendships where you can pick back up right where you left off–no matter how much time has passed

We decided to meet in Lincoln at this great reserve that even had it’s own little dog park (which proved to be quite useful for the lush, green background in our family images). Luckily no dogs were using the park at the time so we took over and had some fun!blog4{J’s} oldest son reminds me so much of my Jacob. He is so outgoing and friendly and took to me right away (and I did to him as well). He pretended not to like the camera at first, but I knew better. I got so many amazing shots of him but this series was my absolute favorite. I love how you can see the individual seed “parachutes” falling off of the dandelion. So cool!blog1{J’s} youngest son is more reserved with such a sweet spirit about him. He was all about the nature around us, collecting his “fuzzies” and hunting for lady bugs. I had so much fun getting to know him.blog5

I had to get some images of the boys together. They were so hysterical making “zerberts” on each other’s faces.blog3And right after I took this picture I knew it would be my favorite. These two are such awesome people and I’m so glad to have their family in my life.blog2{J}, I hope you loved your sneak peek! I’ll have your online gallery up by the end of the week. It was so wonderful spending my Sunday afternoon with you–let’s plan a bbq soon so our kids can hang out! I just have a sneaking feeling that {I} and Jacob will hit it off, too!

38 down, 2 more to go.

I always feel so honored when clients choose me to photograph one of the most important (and beautiful) times in their lives. I absolutely love maternity sessions and this past one was no exception. I had so much fun photographing the {P} family and seriously, can you believe mom-to-be is 38 weeks pregnant? She looks absolutely stunning! I really feel spoiled with all of my beautiful clients!web31web11
web21I hope you two enjoy your sneak peek. I’ll have your online gallery up for you this week! Enjoy your last two weeks of pregnancy–I can’t wait to meet your little girl!

(And mom, thanks again for being my poison oak lookout! Looks like I managed to get lucky and avoid it!)
